Sacred hearts, celestial flames, winged eyes and protective doves are delicately illustrated against a herbarium background inspired by toile de Jouy. EX VOTO celebrates the beauty of intimate gestures, silent faith and objects steeped in history. In a modern interpretation blending fervor and art, the EX VOTO series is inspired by the ancient eponymous object with its intense symbolic charge. Literally “according to the vow made” , it is an offering placed in a sacred place in thanks for a grace obtained or in the hope of protection.
Against a dark background—deep black or cocoa brown—the symbols are surrounded by a baroque, almost liturgical mysticism . The pastel versions, in celadon, sapphire blue, or ecru hues, offer a softer reading, imbued with freshness and intimacy . This textile design diverts liturgical use to create an art of living where the Sacred becomes an ornament.
Designed as a collector's item , each cover naturally finds its place in a sensitive and inspired interior , alongside sculptural objects or second-hand pieces. Playing the mix & match with other prints or textures (plain velvets, graphic rugs, patinated wood, brass, raw ceramics) allows to compose a bold scenography and to accentuate the narrative dimension of the collection.
